Abstract

The current research aims to Teach Children with Simple Mental Disabilities The Topological Concepts. The research depends on the experimental approach of semi- experimental design of two group was used in the research. The research sample consisted of (40) children with Simple Mental Disabilities. Their ages ranged from (6- 7) years old. Measurement tool for A measure of the concept of spatial relations for children with Simple mental disabilities, and Educational material through art- based activity programme to Teach Children with Simple Mental Disabilities The Topological Concepts related to spatial relations.

The results of the research indicated that:         

There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the basic group between the tribal and remote applications of spatial relations scale for children with mental disabilities who can learn

The results showed that it is possible to teach people with simple mental disabilities some of the topological concepts defined by the study in the concepts: (long and short/ large and small/ more and less/ right and left/ in and out/ in front and behind/ above and under/ closed and open).

The research recommends the importance of implementing a program based on Art Activities on more children with Simple mental disabilities than research sample because it has great effect in teaching their Topological Concepts related to spatial relations.
